ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN FINANCE BOARD

The Campaign Finance Board is a nonpartisan independent city agency that empowers New Yorkers to have a greater impact on their elections. Our mission is to make local democracy more open transparent and equitable by removing barriers to participation.

We make it easier for New Yorkers to vote meaningfully support candidates for city office and run for office themselves. NYC Votes our voter engagement initiative meets people where they are to share trustworthy election information and help New Yorkers make a plan to vote. We publish the citywide Voter Guide which delivers information about candidates directly to voters doors. Our public matching funds program ensures small contributions can make a big difference allowing regular people to run for office by relying on the support of other regular people not just wealthy donors and special interests. And we lift the veil on how candidates raise and spend money increasing transparency and accountability in local government.

We believe that when every New Yorker is empowered to participate meaningfully in elections candidates will better reflect the communities they serve elected leaders will be more accountable to the public and New Yorkers will have a democracy they can truly trust.

THE DIVISION/UNIT

The Marketing and Digital Communications unit leads the toplevel marketing and communications strategy for the CFB and creates the strategy behind all publicfacing materials that directly engage and serve the needs of five million New Yorkers in thirteen languages.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Were looking for a highly skilled Senior Graphic Designer to join our growing Design team! This position would report to the Senior Art Director within the Marketing and Digital Communications Unit working on a range of projects to help build strong audience engagement and learning across our social channels and websites. If youre a creative powerhouse with topnotch technical skills and thrives in a fastpaced environment wed love to hear from you! From creating animated videos in one moment to typesetting reports in the next the ideal candidate understands the nuances of every platform and can switch gears at a moments notice. Please note a portfolio of past work is required for all applications. Applications with no portfolio link included will not be considered.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Proposing and developing ideas to help boost engagement on social channels and interactivity on the agencys websites.

Sharing creative ideas and collaborating with internal Design and Content teams and external vendors.

Creating animations and motion graphics for organic social media and email blasts.

Producing and scaling digital assets for multimedia ad campaigns and lead generation marketing.

Illustrating infographics and other data visuals for reports presentations and social posts.

Providing design and QA support for print and digital multilingual assets.

Working with team members to ensure cohesive and alignment with project objectives.

Researching and staying uptodate on industry trends and techniques.

Knowledge

Advanced understanding of visual hierarchy typography layout balance and color.

Knowledge and experience in accessibility motion and UX design.

Advanced knowledge and experience with print production.

Attentive to fundamental design standards (kerning leading rags etc.

Strong critical thinking and problemsolving skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills and communicator.

Highly organized and can lead multiple design projects simultaneously.


Abilities

Expertlevel knowledge and experience of Adobe After Effects Adobe Illustrator Adobe Photoshop Adobe InDesign Adobe Acrobat.

Ability to remain accurate flexible and calm while managing a high volume of work.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of language other than English preferred but not required.

Excellent management skills.

Knowledge and experience with Adobe Premiere.

Knowledge and experience with Figma.

Knowledge of trends on social media.

Demonstrated interest in good government advocacy public service and money in politics.

Qualifications :

A bachelors degree from an accredited college including or supplemented by at least twelvesemester credits (or the equivalent of twelvesemester credits) in accounting auditing business or public administration computer science economics finance statistics graphic design personnel or human resources administration user experience design or a closely related area of study and one year of satisfactory fulltime experience in accounting auditing (including compliance or investigative auditing) business or public administration business analysis computer science database administration economics finance fiscal or economic management or research statistics graphic design personnel or human resources administration user experience design or a closely related field; or

A fouryear high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience as described in 1 above; or

Education and/or experience equivalent to 1 above.
