About Us

The OttawaCarleton District School Board is the largest school board in Eastern Ontario and offers students and parents a world of choice for learning. We are seeking creative dynamic and committed teachers to join our team at Orleans Wood Elementary School.

Orleans Wood is a jewel of a community school with approximately 200 students and 25 staff located in the eastern suburb of OttawaCarleton situated in a beautiful mature neighbourhood. We are a JK Grade 3 dualtrack community school offering a two year Kindergarten program with a 50 French / 50 English split. We also offer one Primary Language Disability class. The welcoming environment created by the staff parents and community makes Orleans Wood Elementary School a great place to work and learn.

Ideal candidates will support the fulfillment of the OttawaCarleton District School Boards (OCDSB) Strategic Plan to enhance the quality of education in the school and the District by creating a positive and inclusive school climate learning and workplace environment. Candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with a human rights and equity perspective to foster student success achievement and wellbeing.

Eligibility List

All Occasional Teachers are eligible to apply for Long Term Occasional postings for which they are qualified.

If you are fully external to the OCDSB you may apply to this posting if you have the required qualifications. Please be advised that our order of consideration for Elementary LTOsis as follows: 1 current elementary occasional teacher applicants followed by 2 qualified external applicants.

Required Qualifications

OCT Divisional Qualifications: Primary

OCT Additional Qualifications: FSL Part 1

Additional Requirements (experience knowledge education) considered an asset for the Position: Spec Ed and Kindergarten qualifications an asset

Additional Information: Teaching in both French and English. Variety of student needs in the classroom including ASD.
