The Department of Transportation is currently on the lookout for a highly skilled individual to take on the role of Highway Equipment Manager 2. In this position you will be responsible for overseeing the entire highway equipment program for PennDOTs Wayne County Maintenance Organization. Your duties will include managing the maintenance repair and dispatch of a diverse fleet of heavy construction and automotive equipment. Additionally you will be in charge of supervising the equipment repair facilities and the dedicated personnel. Furthermore you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep of the building grounds stockpiles and facilities used for equipment storage and maintenance. In this position you will be responsible for creating organizing and overseeing a preventative maintenance program for specific equipment and facilities within a county maintenance organization. Your tasks will include evaluating the work of mechanics and garage personnel to ensure high standards of quality and efficiency inspecting equipment to determine repair or replacement needs and negotiating with dealers for repair costs and parts discounts to maintain warranty inspections. You will also assign equipment to qualified operators manage their training and certification and oversee equipment inventory and usage. Additionally it is crucial to keep track of tool inventory approve purchases for shop tools and prepare or supervise the preparation of reports on time progress and equipment for submission to supervisors. Ensuring maintenance of buildings and grounds are being completed as assigned.
