About the Role
At Matillion were on a mission to make data engineering radically more productive. Our Data Science team part of the Product organisation is dedicated to two core goals: integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning into our products to benefit customers and learning from how our users interact with those products to drive continuous innovation.
As an ML Ops Engineer youll play a critical role in ensuring that our machine learning features arent just smarttheyre scalable efficient and robust in production. Youll help drive the performance of our natural language interface within the Data Productivity Cloud and enable our AIpowered pipeline features to shine. This is a growthfocused role perfect for someone with a solid technical foundation and a hunger to dive deep into the evolving world of Generative AI MLOps and cloud infrastructure.
We value inperson collaboration here at Matillion therefore this role will follow our hybrid work structure where employees work 2 days a week in the Manchester office.
What you will be doing
- Bridge Dev and AI: Build and scale reliable ML workflows that power features like our natural language interface and AIenhanced pipelines.
- Make AI ProductionReady: Deploy and maintain generative AI systems in realworld environments ensuring theyre fast secure and scalable.
- Automate and Optimize: Streamline AI development with tools like CI/CD containerization and orchestration frameworks.
- Collaborate CrossFunctionally: Work closely with data scientists engineers and product teams to align research and production goals.
- Tune for Performance: Monitor measure and improve the accuracy and speed of AI models in live environments.
- Grow with the Tech: Evolve your skills in agentic AI frameworks (like LangChain) AWS data governance and more over your first 12 months.

- Solid Technical Foundation: Experience with Python ML workflows cloud platforms (especially AWS) and data engineering tools.
- AICurious: Some exposure to Generative AI agentic systems and a drive to deepen your knowledge quickly.
- OpsMinded: Familiar with CI/CD containerization and deploying ML models in production environments.
- Adaptable Learner: Thrives in fastpaced environments and is excited to grow with a rapidly evolving tech landscape.
- Collaborative Communicator: Comfortable translating between data science engineering and product to align on outcomes.
- Problem Solver: Proactive in diagnosing issues and optimising systemsnever afraid to experiment and pivot when needed.
