Job Description

Hornblower is seeking a Marine Sales Associate for our Shipyard operation. Territory is midAtlantic with a focus on Virginia. Mid Atlantic candidates preferred.

About You:

This person will be adaptable dynamic and embody Hornblowers RESPECT Service System.

About the Opportunity:

The Marine Sales Associate will be instrumental in driving outside sales in the midAtlantic and cultivating and maintaining customer relationships as they sell Hornblower Marines equipment (marine engines generators control systems etc.. The role involves traveling to customer sites showcasing product benefits and demonstrating both onsite and off the Shipyards capabilities and commitment to our clients. The Marine Sales Associate will collaborate closely with other departments to meet client needs and achieve business goals. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in outside sales previous experience in distribution industrial and/or heavy equipment and a knowledge of highspeed diesel engines and other marine equipment. The position will be responsible for the overall direction of sales in the MidAtlantic region for our Moteurs Baudouin engines Kohler products Cox brands and all other supported brands.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company goals and expand customer base
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential clients including ship owners operators and other marine industry stakeholders
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing marine clients to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction
  • Develop iterative targets strategic sales plans and goals as needed to achieve monthly KPIs
  • Track and report on said sales performance metrics including revenue targets sales pipelines and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with internal teams including internal sales customer service engineering and operations to develop comprehensive proposals and bids for clients
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients highlighting the companys capabilities services and value proposition
  • Maintain the CRM system make outbound calls and prioritize longterm client relationships over shortterm gains
  • Stay informed about relevant regulations standards and best practices in the marine industry ensuring compliance and adherence to quality standards
  • Travel to project and customer sites within the US MidAtlantic states and internationally approximately 75 of the time
  • Represent Hornblower Marine and its interests in a professional and expert manner while developing methods to improve the overall professionalism of the territory
  • Additional job duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the maritime industry
  • Extensive experience in building and maintaining relationships with clients in the maritime sector
  • Strong understanding of the maritime industry including relations trends and key players
  • Previous experience in distribution industrial and / or heavy equipment and a knowledge of high speed diesel engines
  • Familiarity with shipbuilding marine engineering propulsion systems and other technical aspects of the maritime industry
  • Understanding of sales techniques
  • Experience in negotiating and closing contracts and agreements
  • Willingness to adapt to changing market conditions customer preferences and industry regulations to stay competitive
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written to effectively convey information negotiate contracts and build relationships
  • Experience with Word Excel and organizational documentation file management systems
  • Must thrive in a fastpaced environment
  • Must have a valid drivers license for required travel through MidAtlantic region
  • Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally as required
  • Must be able to board vessels enter confined spaces with limited visibility and have the ability to climb up and down stairs

Salary Range $80000 $90000 annually plus commissions. Salary based upon skills and experience.
