This announcement will be used to fill one 1 Safe2Tell Analyst I positions within the CIAC. This is an entry level analyst position for Safe2Tell designed to provide training and experience. This position is assigned to the CDPS 24/7 Watch Center housed in the DHSEM/CIAC in Lakewood. Revised October 2023 Colorado Department of Public Safety 4 Safe2Tell receives and disseminates tips coming in from across the state. Reports are received via phone web or mobile app. Reports received are anonymous and confidential and the anonymity of the caller is protected bystatute.The Safe2tell analyst will be required to have critical thinking capabilities as they receive information spanning a wide array of concerning behaviors. They will need the ability to multitask as the reports are received via the phone web and mobile app and more than one tip can come in at once. This position is considered essential personnel as the Watch Center must be covered seven days a week 24 hours a day. This position requires rotating shifts including nights weekends and holidays. Safe2Tell analysts need to work independently. They must deal with citizens from various backgrounds and possibly in stressful situations. Safe2Tell analysts must be able to empathize with community members submitting reports whether via phone web or mobile app and provide a calm and professional response. Safe2Tell analysts must have exceptional listening skills and communication skills both verbal and written.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
100 Inperson position
24/7 Rotating Schedule working rotating shifts including nights weekends and holidays


Duties include (but are not limited to):
Safe2Tell
Reviews assesses and processes information provided to Safe2Tell. Gathers information from callers digital analysis of web/appbased reports and inputs reports into the P3 System. Processes incoming reports from the web and mobile app to include twoway dialog with reporting parties. Forward the report to the appropriate school and law enforcement entity. Follow up with school and law enforcement to verify receipt of the report. Further follow up with the schools and law enforcement for dispositions of reports received. Periodically provides updated contact information in P3 for contacts when a new contact is made known to those responsible for updating the system.

Phone Line Support
Staffs all 24/7 hotline(s) within the CIAC receives and makes calls from the public or law enforcement specific to various legislative requirements. Answers hotlines to receive and refer calls from the public about specific hotline and to collaborate with other state agencies to obtain information necessary or beneficial for responding to requests. Intake analyze disseminate and provide dispositions of all reported hotline(s) calls. Provide relevant resources information and collaborate with other state agencies to obtain relevant information necessary or beneficial for responding to requests.

State EOC Support & Recovery Task Force Support
As directed provides predisaster support to the State Emergency Operations Center training and exercise program up to 5 of time. During a state declared disaster provides operational support to the State Emergency Operations Center as directed. When directed assume assigned role as member of the State Recovery Task Force until relieved by Task Force Leader or Director DHSEM.

Minimum Qualifications Substitutions Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

Experience:
Four 4 years of demonstrated professional experience working in a organization related to criminal justice or working with K12 students from from various socioethnic backgrounds or working with youth in a mental health capacity or awareness of mental health in youth with activities that included dispatching information gathering or customer service.

Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and demonstrated professional experience working in a organization related to criminal justice or working with K12 students from from various socioethnic backgrounds or working with youth in a mental health capacity or awareness of mental health in youth with activities that included dispatching information gathering or customer serviceequal to four 4 years.

Preferred qualifications (not required)
  • Awareness of Safe2Tell program and processes.
  • Previous analytical training.
  • Previous professional work experience in a multijurisdictional law enforcement environment.
  • Prior experience in working Emergency Communication Center Public Safety Entity or equivalent.
  • Prior experience working with youth in a mental health capacity or awareness of mental health in youth.
  • Current Federal security clearance
  • Previous experience working with K12 students from various socioethnic backgrounds.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Requires successful completion of an extensive background investigation including reference checks a polygraph examination and fingerprint based criminal background check.
  • Requires working rotating shifts including nights weekends and holidays to ensure appropriate level of staffing in a 24/7 work unit.
  • A valid drivers license required in lieu of a driver license must be able to independently complete any travel required for the position.
  • OnCall statusincident specific. High profile critical incident criminal/terrorism cases or command post assignments necessitate duties that may occur outside normal business hours.
  • This position has an Essential Services Designation and can be required to work unexpected or unusual work hours to perform the essential and/or emergency services of the department without delay and/or without interruption.
  • Must be a Colorado resident at the time of application
