Are you the one were looking for

We are seeking a dynamic highly motivated Youth Worker who demonstrates our values of compassion accountability responsiveness and empowerment to our clients families and each other.

TheYouth Worker provides inperson programming at two locations creating a safe engaging environment for youth ages 1318. Programming includes social and recreational programming (primarily basketball) homework support and referrals fostering improved youth outcomes and a better sense of community.

This position is a unionized parttime permanent position. The rate of pay is $20.76 per hour. Hours per week are 17.5.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Foster an inclusive supportive environment for youth ages 1318.
  2. Work in collaboration with the Provincial Youth Outreach Workers team connecting youth to further supports in the community.
  3. Encourage participation from youth in activities that interest them.
  4. Be an active participant engaged and role modelling positive behaviours for youth.
  5. Participate fully in staff supervision and inservice meetings as required.
  6. Be responsible for statistics reports etc. as required.
  7. Follow agency and program policies and procedures.
  8. Build positive relationships with youth both inperson and virtually as needed.
  9. Actively supporting and education participants in the program to create a safe and inclusive space for all.
  10. Support in the further development of the program in partnership with the youth program staff and Program Manager.

What you will bring:

  1. Graduate of Child and Youth Worker Social Service Worker or Recreation and Leisure diploma or a diploma/degree from a related discipline is preferred.
  2. Minimum one year experience working with youth 1318.
  3. Preference is for 1 of 2 Youth Workers to be nonfemale identifying due to the needs of the youth participants.
  4. Experience and sensitivity in working with a multicultural community.
  5. Good communication skills
  6. Staff with the ability to speak Arabic would be an asset.
  7. Willing to work evening hours specifically Monday to Friday 5:45 pm to 9:15 pm.
