Job Description

The University of Washingtons Department of Rehabilitation Medicine Division of Physiatryis offering an outstanding opportunity for two Neurorehabilitation Physiatrists to join our faculty. These will be fulltime academic appointments on the Clinical Practice track. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described inUWs Faculty Code Section 2434.Position FTE may be negotiable. Start date anticipated by Fall 2025 but other dates may be considered.

Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multiyear appointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30. Faculty with 12month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12month period (JulyJune) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure.

The initial appointment period will be three years at a minimum with eligibility for renewal thereafter.

Only fulltime positions 100 FTE) are eligible for H1B and permanent residence sponsorship. Employer based permanent residence sponsorship is offered in the Clinical Practice track.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching research and service. In addition to clinical work teaching scholarship and service are integral to all Clinical Practice positions.

Clinical duties may include a combination of inpatient rehabilitation inpatient consults and outpatient clinic for patient care needs including general rehabilitation neurorehabilitation diagnoses (representing a mix of diagnoses such as acquired brain injury stroke SCI etc. and spasticity management. Expected sites of practice include the UW Medical CenterMontlake and Harborview Medical Center. The scope of the clinical practice and/or location of primary assignment may vary depending on the individual hired. The successful candidate may have opportunities to participate in the supervision of trainees as part of their clinical practice.

COMPENSATION

The base salary range for this position will be as follows: Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice $15000 $20194 per month $180000 $247175 annually) Associate Professor of Clinical Practice $18700 $24000 per month $224400 $293760 annually) or Professor of Clinical Practice $23500 $26800 per month $282000 $328032 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. The ranges are inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Other compensation associated with this position will include semiannual productionbased incentive through UW Physicians (UWP) and may also include temporary salary increases or salary supplements related to professional sites of practice coverage (NTE TPSs) moving allowance or relocation incentive or administrative supplements (ADS) related to additional any administrative or other leadership duties assigned.

More than 25 of our faculty are based at Seattle Childrens Hospital and the Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System which are UW Medicineaffiliated organizations. The Sports and Spine division provides care at seven clinics throughout the UW Medicine system.

We offer nationally recognized training in rehabilitation therapies and rehabilitation research through four graduate degree programs: PhD in Rehabilitation Science Master in Occupational Therapy Master in Prosthetics and Orthotics and Doctor of Physical Therapy.

The successful candidate must have the following:

  • an MD DO or foreign equivalent
  • successful completion of residency training in an accredited PM&R program
  • hold or be eligible for full medical licensure to practice medicine in the state of Washington
  • board eligibility or board certification in physical medicine and rehabilitation
  • expertise in general neurorehabilitation

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H1B visa graduates of foreign (nonU.S. medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or foreign equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
