3 & 5 Axis Milling Machinist Colorado Springs CO

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 3 and 5 Axis Milling Machinist to join our dynamic team in Colorado Springs. As a key member of our manufacturing operations you will be responsible for the precise setup operation and maintenance of advanced 3 and 5 axis milling machines. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to producing highquality components will directly contribute to our success.
Responsibilities:
- Expertly set up and operate 3 and 5 axis milling machines to produce precision parts according to stringent specifications.
- Accurately interpret complex engineering drawings blueprints and technical documentation to ensure precise machining.
- Conduct thorough inspections of finished products utilizing a variety of precision measurement tools to verify adherence to quality standards and specifications.
- Collaborate effectively with engineers and other team members to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
Qualifications:
Required Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree military training or certification in machining or a related field is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of handson experience operating both 3 and 5 axis milling machines.
- Proven experience working with tight tolerances and producing precision parts.
- Solid understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Demonstrated proficiency in using various metrology and measuring tools.
- Comprehensive knowledge of machining principles techniques and best practices.
- Exceptional problemsolving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
- Strong ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Proven ability to work independently manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
Desired Experience:
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming and simulation.
- Familiarity with tool grinding processes and techniques.
- Experience operating Swissstyle lathes.
- Proficiency in using advanced metrology equipment such as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
- Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while operating machinery.
- Excellent handeye coordination and manual dexterity for precise machine operation and handling of small parts.
