The Staff Scheduling Coordinator must thrive in a fastpaced environment be able to motivate and inspire a team and effectively respond to the changing needs of the seniors we serve.

Schedule: Wednesday Sunday 8:30 5

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists with attendance tracking including maintaining tardy and absence calendars.

  • Reports to Director of Nursing all employees with excess tardiness or absenteeism in accordance with policy.

  • Documents employee and Agency cancellations and follows up appropriately.

  • Maintains an updated PRN list and distributes to required staff.

  • Works with Human Resources and Director of Nursing when scheduling modified work duty employees in accordance with work restrictions and policy.

  • Assists employees in accurate completion of forms i.e. leave and day off requests time cards etc pertinent to scheduling and staffing.

  • Completes biweekly nursing shift schedules coordinating requests to ensure appropriate coverage of units. Completes and posts work sheets/time schedules.

  • Performs miscellaneous duties pertaining to staffing and assist nursing supervisory personnel as necessary.

  • Works cooperatively with residents residents representatives facility staff physicians consultants and ancillary service providers.

  • Answers employee calls regarding staffing/scheduling functions. Prepares written correspondence as necessary including staff grievances pertaining to scheduling.

  • Ensures newly hired nursing staff has schedules on day of orientation.

  • Consults with nursing department staff and supervisors concerning the staffing/scheduling needs: to assist in elimination/correction of problem areas and/or improvement of services.

  • Makes recommendations to Director of Nursing concerning staffing and scheduling issues.

  • Develops and maintains a good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel as well as other departments within the facility.

  • Ensures administrative functions are carried out promptly for an efficient operation. Assists in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished.

  • Coordinates services provided by Agency and maintains Agency records (signin forms staffing needs contracts and counseling).

  • Observes Residents Rights and safety policies at all times.

  • Attends inservice training programs and staffing conferences as needed.

  • Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.

  • Other duties as assigned performed in an effective timely and professional manner.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma

  • Must be a licensed LPN in the state of Kentucky.

  • Staff scheduling experience with long term care background preferred.

  • Experience using electronic scheduling software is a must. Specific experience using SmartLinx preferred.
