Job Title: Development DirectorCompany: River Bend Food BankLocation: Davenport IASalary: $78000 $90000SUMMARY The Development Director is a key leadership position responsible for developing and executing the strategic vision for all fundraising and philanthropic initiatives of River Bend Food Bank (RBFB). The Development Director oversees donor relations major gifts grants corporate and foundation giving and events. The Development Director plays a critical role in ensuring longterm financial sustainability and raising the necessary resources to advance the mission of ending hunger in the community.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Leadership & Fundraising- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy and budget that includes individual giving major gifts corporate sponsorships planned giving and grants.
- Lead and grow a highperforming development team; set performance goals and metrics aligned with organizational priorities.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with major donors philanthropic partners and community stakeholders.
- Partner with Vice President to identify solicit and close significant funding opportunities.
Donor Engagement & Stewardship- Oversee a donorcentric culture across the organization ensuring personalized engagement recognition and retention.
- Manage a portfolio of highlevel donors and prospects conducting facetoface visits and personalized communications.
Grants & Corporate Partnerships- Supervise the identification writing and reporting of foundation and government grants.
- Cultivate corporate relationships that result in sponsorships volunteer engagement and inkind support.
Events & Campaigns- Oversee the planning and of fundraising events and capital campaigns.
- Ensure alignment of events with organizational goals and branding.
Collaboration & Management- Serve as a key advisor to the Vice President and collaborate with peers on crossdepartmental initiatives.
- Provide regular reports for the Executive Team as requested.
- Lead inspire and develop a missiondriven resultsoriented team.
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelors degree required; advanced degree or CFRE certification preferred.
- Minimum 710 years of progressively responsible development experience in a nonprofit setting preferably in hunger relief or human services.
- Proven track record of success in major gift solicitation and donor stewardship.
- Strong leadership management and teambuilding skills.
- Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of fundraising CRM systems and donor analytics.
- Ability to think strategically while managing daytoday development operations.
- Ability to travel throughout the Food Banks service area as needed with occasional out of town and overnight travel required.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed occasionally outside of regular business hours for special events and to support fundraising efforts.
- Possession of a valid drivers license and insurable driving record.
- Ability to successfully complete a preemployment criminal background investigation and credit check.
