Description

The Team
The Court Services team is a dedicated group of professionals delivering vital access to justice across British Columbia. As part of an established and resultsdriven team Court Clerks and Registry Clerks work alongside judges lawyers sheriffs and other justice partners to uphold a transparent and impartial justice system.

The Role

In this role you will support the operation of all levels of Court by performing essential precourt incourt and postcourt administrative duties along with front counter services. Whether guiding the public on court processes or supporting incourt proceedings your work directly contributes to the fair and effective delivery of justice for citizens across the province.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum of two years administrative support or customer service experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of oneyear previous work experience in keyboarding data entry word processing and working with standard computer applications and software programs (e.g. Windows MS Word Excel Outlook).
  • Keyboard speed of 40 words per minute.
  • Valid B.C. drivers licence.


Preference may be given to candidates with:

  • Experience in court programs and applications (e.g. JUSTIN CEIS ARC CTAS CCD).
  • Experience as a Court Clerk and/or Registry Clerk.
  • One year of previous work experience in a legal environment.

Provisos:

  • May be required to work flexible hours including varied shifts and overtime on short notice.
  • May be required to travel including travel in adverse weather conditions and work in other geographical areas including circuit court locations. Must have reliable transportation and/or be willing to travel with others.
