Job Description

About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker you will be providing personcentred support to female clients living with disability in Taree. Provide oneonone support to individuals with disabilities in their homes or the community with travel between clients and working short split shifts required.

Shifts fall between Monday to Sunday primarily between 7am to 6pm. Ability to work flexibly is required. No overnights or sleepovers required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (HIDPA) for residents including medication assistance personal care such as bathing shaving and toileting and provide mobility assistance by lifting transferring and hoisting clients
  • Follow personcentred active support plans and behaviour support plans respectfully
  • Provide transport attend appointments outings and recreational activities
  • Help clients reach their goals through meaningful activities of their choice including community access and social support
  • Track and document the changing needs of clients through thorough recordkeeping
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients their families and your team
  • Advocate for client choice and control in a way that is safe and compliant

Skills & Experience

  • An unrestricted New South Wales drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle is required
  • Committed to work flexible work hours across the week including public holidays
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
  • A current First Aid Certificate which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
  • Experience working in Lifestyle and Community supports

Successful candidates will be required to clear all statebased probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
