Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
MidOhio Food Collective (MOFC) is looking for an Order Picker to be responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks associated with the acquisition storage and distribution of food products.
Hours are Monday through Friday 7:30am 4pm)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs a variety of general duties including picking and packing loading unloading and proper storage of food products.
- Uses pallets as food is pulled from the shelves.
- Shrinkwraps and tags skids for delivery
- Unloads food donations from food drives and individuals as needed.
- Develops and provides receipts to donors.
- Ensures that firstexpiredfirstout methodology is used for each order transaction.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of food distribution and warehouse areas.
- Maintains a safe secure and healthy work environment by following safety practices and policies.
- Participates in special projects at the request of the Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Certifications: High School Diploma/GED Required. Food Safety Certification or be able to become certified by the MidOhio Food Collective.
Experience: Minimum of one year of warehouse experience including use of forklift (propane and electric) electric pallet jacks/riders 4ft and 8ft) is required. Working knowledge of general warehouse machinery and operations. Knowledge of quality control practices procedures and scanning equipment.
Skills/Competencies: Must have excellent customer skills and mathematical skills. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment.
JOB CONDITIONS:
Warehouse environment. Safety sensitive position due to regular interaction with heavy machinery. Must be able to: perform moderate to heavy physical labor (lift 30 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally). Daily walking bending reaching pushing and pulling 300 lbs. with use of manual pallet jack.. Frequent standing walking lifting carrying and reaching.
