Job Description

Job Title: Seasonal Program Lead/Summer Day Camp Lead

FLSA Status: Seasonal Full Time nonexempt
Reports to:Onsite program director

Schedule: MondayFriday 8am5pm
Supervises: n/a

Rate of Pay: $20/hr

Closing Date:05/25/2025

Benefits: Standard; FullTime NonExempt Seasonal employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:

  • Sick leave benefit 1 day per month 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire)

Scope of Position/Essential Functions:

The Summer Day Camp Leader assists the OnSite Program Director in operating the Corps summer program. This includes maintaining the Divisional standards as well as having direct daily involvement with the students. The Program Leader also may be assigned several different responsibilities by the OnSite Program Director depending on the needs of the program and their skill set. Some of those may include assessing inventory needs administering proper record keeping securing parental permissions outcome documentation facilitating program components and sustaining specific health and safety standards. Demonstrate a passion for working with children in a learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate as a team player
  • Assist with summer programming where needed assisting with supervision guidance and caring for children in an educational enrichment and recreational setting.
  • This position will often provide leadership support to Corps ministry components that are integrated into the summer program.
  • Childcare licensure compliance
  • Provide encouraging instruction to students during group activities.
  • Assist the Director or Group Leader in the planning teaching of lessons homework support and activities.
  • Assist with food preparation serving and clean up.
  • Developing partnerships with parents and responsive relationships with children.
  • Assist in maintaining discipline and encouraging all children to follow rules.
  • Assist in general set up and cleanup of program area and with the opening/closing of the facility.
  • Supervising rotations and signin and signout
  • Leading activities
  • Supervising children
  • Making sure each child is accounted for
  • Maintaining a safe environment
  • Reporting all issues (no matter how small) to the Director.
  • All other tasks as assigned.
  • Attending mandatory Staff Trainings

Education and Work Experience:

Local Program Leaders must be at least eighteen years of age and demonstrate an ability to work with children. Program Leaders must have at least three months fulltime or equivalent parttime verifiable experience with schoolage children. Within 30 days of hiring you must submit fingerprints and certifications in First Aid CPR Medication Administration and Universal Precautions from a nationally recognized provider.

Softwarerelated skills: Microsoft Word and Excel and email required. Working knowledge of integrated database applications and the ability to use new software programs with basic training.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to maneuver. Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to grasp push pull and reach overhead. Ability to operate telephone. Ability to lift to 25 pounds Ability to access and produce information from a computer Ability to understand written information.
