Job Description
JOB STATUS: Fulltime 36 hours) 12 months per year
LOCATION: Willmar MN
HELPING FAMILIES BUILD A BRIGHTER FUTURE!
Help Head Start families build economic stability and opportunities in communities as a Cultural Liaison.Join our team and be a source of advocacy and support!
WHAT YOULL DO:
Translate and Interpret: Provide oral and written translations to assist the Somali families with English challenges and vice versa.
Contribute and Build: Maintain a commitment to professionalism and help to build program practices and goals.
Inspire and motivate: Establish respectful partnerships with families to help them reach their goals.
Bridge Cultural Differences: Use your experience to help children and families in the classroom and home visits.
SKILLS TO WOW US:
Youre a strong communicator both written and verbal who easily connects with people.
You can assess needs and create action plans that drive real results.
You have experience working with the financial challenges of families and know which community resources would serve them best.
Problemsolving and conflict resolution You handle them with confidence.
Youre a team player who also thrives when working independently.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience in helping to effectively translate the English/Somali Language families.
CPR and First Aid Certification
