Job Description

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant manages and analyze financial data ensures compliance with accounting standards and support the financial health of our marina operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and maintain general ledger entries accruals and account reconciliations on a monthly quarterly and annual basis.
  2. Oversee monthend and yearend closing processes ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  3. Manage the full accounts payable cycle including vendor invoice processing coding approvals and timely payments.
  4. Monitor revenue and expense accounts related to marina operations including dockage fuel sales repairs and retail activities.
  5. Analyze financial data to identify trends variances and opportunities for cost savings or operational improvements.
  6. Assist in the preparation of budgets forecasts and cash flow projections.
  7. Support audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries from auditors and regulatory agencies.
  8. Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable local/state/federal regulations.
  9. Collaborate with operations managers and other departments to improve financial workflows and reporting accuracy.
  10. Assist in the implementation and enhancement of accounting software and systems.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
  • 3 years of accounting experience preferably in a small to midsized business
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
  • Excellent organizational analytical and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problemsolving
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic handson environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with POS systems and marina management software (e.g. Dockwa Marina Master)
  • Familiarity with fuel sales accounting and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of sales tax regulations and reporting requirements for retail and marine services.

Physical Demands/Conditions:

This position operates in a standard office environment. The role may require occasional travel to other company locations attend meetings or company events.
