IMC is currently looking to hire a Physical Therapist Assistant on a PRN general supervision of the Director of Rehab ServicesThePhysical Therapist Assistant(PTA) willbe implementing treatment plans and providing medically necessary physicaltherapy to restore function prevent disability decrease pain and promotehealing following disease injury or PTA will help the patient reach his/her maximum potential and assumea place in society while learning to live within the limits of his/her capabilities. This will be done in a variety of settingsincluding home health outpatient and inpatient. The therapist will need knowledge andcompetency to provide care based on physical psychosocial education level and safety concerns for neonate infant toddler adolescent adult and geriatric populations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
- Associates degree from approved schoolof PTA or equal of Grandfather clause with greater than 2 years experience inmultiple settings.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
- Current valid Physical Therapy AssistantLicense in Louisiana or a temporary permit granted by LSBPTE.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- Successful completion of long termclinical rotations in inpatient and outpatient environments from an accredited PTA school or one year ofrecent experience in inpatient or outpatient practice.
JOB KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledgeof PT delivery throughoutpatient lifespan neonate through geriatric.
- Knowledge of outpatient therapy servicesincluding delivery of modalities.
- Knowledge of acute PT for inpatientservices including wound care.
- Knowledge of home health PT services.
PRINCIPLE TASKS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Treat patients
- Monitor and assess patients
- Reassess patients
- Assist director of rehab withdevelopment of policies and procedures
- Assist with scheduling of patients
- Documentation of patient care
- Assist with daily operations ofoutpatient and inpatient rehab services
- Assist PT with delivery of services asrequested
