DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Corrections Utility Plant Operator you will play a crucial role in maintaining the functionality of SCI Chester. This important position requires you to be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the heating boilers chilled water systems cooling towers and standby generators at the institution. Thisposition also requires a strong understanding of safety protocols and emergency procedures as well as the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in highstress situations. Your work will directly impact the safety and wellbeing of both staff and inmates making it a highly important and challenging position.

- Fulltime employment 40 hours per week
- Work hours: To be determined depending on operational needs.
- 2nd shift: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM Monday Friday with a shift differential of $1.25 per hour
- 3rd shift: 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM Monday Friday with a shift differential of $1.15 per hour
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Salary:In some cases the starting salary may be nonnegotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the operation maintenance and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant or a steam and electric generating plant; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirement:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
