Responsibilities and Duties:
- Knowledgeable in both commercial and government shipments.
- Record revenue in ERP system.
- Utilize thirdparty websites for processing government shipments.
- Conduct cycle counts on inventory for government property in storage.
- Upon release review military contracts for SPI compliance ensure material availability and confirm packaging materials meet government requirements.
- Understand and submit basic Foreign Military Sales to DCMA/PHX (SIR) for product shipment.
- General understanding of Pack N Marks.
- Book and schedule freight forwarders.
- Attend meetings with internal and external customers.
- Provide customers with shipping documents upon request.
- Review contracts for special military packaging requirements.
- Obtain transportation quotes from carriers.
- Complete commercial invoices and shippers declarations for dangerous goods for export.
- Create shipping documents using ERP system.
- Obtain certification to operate material handling equipment.
- Perform daily standard work and adhere to 5S principles.
- Flex to other departments as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Good communication skills for both external and internal customers.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Ability to view and understand contracts related to each shipment.
- Request information from Navy/Air Force for SPI IHC or military CAs when required.
- Provide transportation information to purchasing and customers (internal and external).
- Effectively communicate with and train others on all job responsibilities.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Verify competent authority authorization (e.g. AGILE contracts).
- Proficient in reviewing and submitting Foreign Military Sales to DCMA/PHX (SIR).
- Conduct and analyze cycle counts for government property inventory discrepancies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in transportation or materials management (including hazardous materials) for commercial and government customers.
- Ability to research and interpret product drawings for proper packaging and transportation of both foreign and domestic shipments.
- Knowledge of CFR49 AF Manual 24204 IATA regulations and ICAO regulations.
- Capability to work independently on daily management or assigned tasks.
Education Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience Required: 35 years of related experience.
