Job Summary
Formlabs is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to lead teams and own space for manufacturing services including scaled additive manufacturing operations equipment refurbishment preproduction builds and validation campaigns. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence fostering a culture of safety and quality and delivering strategic business goals. The Operations Manager will oversee key aspects of site management including production personnel development financial performance and crossfunctional collaboration with a strong focus on continuous improvement. This position is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within the dynamic and growing field of 3D printing.
Responsibilities:
- Manage an hourly labor pool and support functions including oversight resource planning hiring training and skills development. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that emphasizes safety quality and accountability.
- Oversee all aspects of production/operational processes ensuring efficient workflow adherence to schedules and highquality output
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational metrics and prepare leadership reports
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective corrective and preventative actions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Lean Six Sigma or other relevant frameworks
- Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of facilities and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior production/manufacturing role.
- Experience in managing a direct hourly workforce
- Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes & principles such as 5S lean material flow safety quality management etc.
- Experience in establishing and managing refurbishment programs is a plus.
- Excellent problemsolving critical thinking and organizational skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop employees across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Proven ability to align and implement business strategies effectively across multiple departments.
- Demonstrated success in driving cultural transformation and organizational change.
- Familiarity with safety systems such as OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) or equivalent.
- Experience with 3D printers
