Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
MidOhio Food Collective (MOFC) is looking for Market Specialists at our MidOhio Markets. Under the general supervision of the Market Manager this position is responsible for assisting in the day today operations of the market.
Available shifts for this position are 12noon8:30pm (Monday through Friday) or 8am4:30pm (Tuesday through Saturday).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prep and stage produce pallets for the Market floor.
- Organize and manage product movement of Market inventory.
- Maintains produce cooler.
- Ensure all produce is pulled and organized before bringing it to the Market floor.
- Provide quality checks of all food products as often as possible.
- Use equipment to retrieve pallets from freezer/cooler storage area.
- Assist and directs volunteers as needed.
- Checkin customers using TablesReady.
- Register customers into the Pantrytrak system.
- Maintain a safe secure and healthy work environment by following safety practices and policies.
- Participate in special projects as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Certifications: High School Diploma/GED required. Food Safety Certification (provided by MidOhio Food Collective).
Experience: Experience working in a food pantry market or grocery store is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must have strong customer service and communication skills. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment.
JOB CONDITIONS:
Must be able to work in a variety of temperatures and conditions as some duties are performed outdoors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to perform moderate to heavy physical labor (lift 30 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally). Daily walking bending reaching pushing and pulling 300 lbs. with use of manual or electric pallet jack). Frequent standing walking lifting carrying and reaching.
