All bargaining unit and exempt new hires to ODOT must serve a one year probationary period.
This position is overtime eligible per FLSA Standards.
If this position is filled internally the wage rate will be determined in accordance with the contract.

Qualifications
Transportation Engineer 1:
Bachelors degree in Engineering; Accepted for Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (EIT exam) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.
OR
Bachelors degree in Engineering; Valid certificate as EngineerInTraining issued or accepted as equivalent by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors
Transportation Engineer 2:
Valid certificate as EngineerInTraining issued or accepted as equivalent by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 1 85641.
OR
Valid certificate as EngineerInTraining issued or accepted as equivalent by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; Cumulative 12 mos. exp. as an Engineering College Intern with ODOT with portions in Engineering and Planning or Construction.
OR
Bachelors degree in engineering; valid certificate as EngineerInTraining issued or accepted as equivalent by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 2 yrs. engineering related experience.
OR
Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required but not for the mandated registration.
