We are currently seeking Software Safety Engineers for our team in Huntsville AL.
The successful candidate with be responsible for the following:
- Conducts software system safety evaluations for DoD systems
- Supports software system requirements identification and development process by evaluating and assessing planning design development production and operations for DoD software systems architectures
- Prepares and writes formal Systems Safety Hazard Analysis Reports to categorize and summarize all potential softwarehardware interaction hazards
- Performs software safetycritical and missioncritical systems analysis throughout the life cycle from initial requirements through design implementation testing delivery and support
- Utilizes excellent written and oral communication skills to maintain successful daily interaction with customer and teammates
- Operates proactively with ability to handle significant responsibility and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications:
- ABET accredited STEM BS
- Experience developing embedded mission critical software in C C or ADA
- Familiarity with software development/lifecycle IEEE 12207 MILSTD498
- Experience with Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA) Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and/or Failure Mode Effects & Critically Analysis (FMECA)
- Working knowledge of MILHDBK516 DO178 MILSTD882 JSSSEH AMCOM Regulation 38517 SAE ARP 4761 or similar software safety standards
- Knowledge of the integration and verification of large systems
- Active Secret Clearance
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of static and dynamic code analysis
- Experience with Model Based Software Development
- Familiarity with MATLAB and Simulink Rhapsody DOORS SCADE etc.
