Role:Young Persons Worker

Location:Sandwell West Midlands

Salary:24309.07 per annum (prorata)

Contract/Hours:Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2026 Part Time 18.5 hours a week.

A bit about the role.

Mello is a service across the Midlands that partners with other agencies to delivery mental health and wellbeing support across the two counties.

We provide the Blues programme to 1119yearolds young people in schools colleges and sixth forms across Worcestershire. We are looking for a motivated Young Persons Worker who is committed to supporting young peoples mental health to deliver this service in Hereford/Worcestershire. You will be part of a national programme across Action for Childrens four nations.

We also deliver a range of mental health and wellbeing programmes and workshops called Bouncing Back which include exam stress and resilience. 1 in 10 children in every classroom suffer from a diagnosable mental health disorder. The Blues is an evidenced based CBT influenced programme to support the reduction of anxiety & depression in young people using an early intervention model.

As a Young Persons Worker youll be:

  • Supporting a team of practitioners to deliver of a range of emotional health and wellbeing interventions.
  • Delivering group work and individual support.
  • Equipping service users with skills in order to manage emotional wellbeing.
  • Working in partnership with Sandwell community providers such as education the voluntary sector and health services.

Our job description outlines the requirements of the role but the musthaves are:

  • Level 2 Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of delivering evidencedbased interventions.
  • Experience of working with children and young people and families.
  • A commitment to supporting emotional and mental health and act as an ambassador for this.
  • Access to a vehicle is essential for travelacross the Sandwell area.
