Job Description

  • Completion of the twelfth 12th) school grade or GED supplemented by a relevant computer certificate program from a recognized Community College or Technical Institute including a minimum of one year experience in a computer systems support role in a customer service environment.
  • CompTIA A certification.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of Microsoft products including Windows10/11 M365 Apps for Business OneDrive etc.
  • Strong ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs on enduser IT assets including desktops laptops Surfaces and Rugged mobile equipment.
  • Strong support experience with Mobile IT equipment in vehicles (Ex. Panasonic Toughbooks Portable Printers LTE Vehicle routers LPR and Cameras).
  • Working knowledge of mobile devices (IPAD iPhone etc..
  • Able to read and understand technical manuals procedural documentation and other guides.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong customerservice orientation with the ability to present ideas in userfriendly language.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and relationshipbuilding skills.
  • Analytical and problemsolving abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Selfmotivated and directed with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a highpressure environment.
  • Ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in a teamoriented collaborative environment.
  • Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects such as computers and peripherals.
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Alberta Drivers License and complete a City Drivers License application. Must also have access to own vehicle and provide written proof of current public liability and property damage insurance to a minimum of $1000000. EPS will reimburse mileage for any private vehicle usage during assigned duties. Client transportation is not required.

Hours of Work: 33.75 hours per week Monday Friday. Oncall duties during off hours may apply. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of variable hours of work program.

Salary Range: 21M Salary Grade 036 $34.31 $43.09 (Hourly) $2315.90 $2909.10 (BiWeekly) $60445.64 $75927.90 (Annually)
The rates quoted are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) provides essential services to our community. The EPS requires 1 one talented and skilled FullTime Desktop Analyst to join our team to ensure the reliability and functionality of our end point computer systems in the public safety environment.

The Desktop Analyst would be responsible for providing onsite technical support and maintaining the enduser computing environment within the organization. This includes installing diagnosing repairing and upgrading all enduser devices and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem issues in person by remote tools by telephone or via chat in a timely and accurate fashion and provide enduser assistance where required.

The successful candidate will exercise a strong level of technical and customer service skills to perform the following duties:
