Function
The primary function of the after school aide to to assist with the After School Program (ASP) where needed with supervision guidance and caring for children in an educational and recreational setting.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists with the After School Program (ASP) where needed; assisting with supervision guidance and caring for children in an educational and recreational setting.
- While not a specific ministry position this position will often provide leadership support to Corps ministry components that are integrated into the ASP program.
- Supervise and engage children in the ASP during the school
- Provide encouraging instruction to students during individual study times as well as group
- Be willing and able to provide help to students in the completion of their school
- Assist the Youth Director/ASP Coordinator in the teaching of lessons and
- Assist the Youth Director/ASP Coordinator with supervision and/or leadership ofTSA Troops Music and Arts and Teen ministry programs.
- Assist with food preparation serving and clean
- Assist in maintaining discipline and encouraging all children to follow the center
- Assist in general cleanup of program area and with the closing of the facility each

Education Experience Skills Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of
- High School graduate or hold a GE
- Must pass an FBI background
- Ability to speak and write the English language with professional level skill is
- The individual must show respect for other employees associates clients and the goals and objectives ofThe Salvation Army.
- Must have experience working with
- At least three months of fulltime or equivalent parttime satisfactory and verifiable work or volunteer experience with schoolage
- Must be adaptable to changing situations and flexible in a position requiring diligent attention to
- Work well with schoolage children in a diverse
- Driving
- A minimum age of 21 (for insurance provision) and possession of a valid instate drivers license is required.
- An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Armys policies.
- Background Check
- Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Armys policies.
Softwarerelated skills:
Must be capable of performing essential duties in an office environment to include: using a computer well enough to assist students with their schoolwork: Microsoft Office Products (Word; Access; Excel; Power Point) etc. Lotus Notes working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training required.
