Shift: Day Shift


Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Packaging Engineer to assess and optimize our packaging processes by evaluating the need for new packaging machines and componentry. This role will be responsible for analyzing current packaging operations identifying areas for improvement and recommending costeffective efficient and sustainable solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in packaging materials automation and equipment selection as well as experience in manufacturing or production environments.


The following are essential job duties and responsibilities. This list is not exhaustive and other duties will be assigned as necessary.

  • Packaging Equipment Evaluation & Selection:
    • Assess current packaging processes to determine the need for new machinery or upgrades.
    • Research and recommend packaging machines that improve efficiency reduce waste and enhance product protection.
    • Conduct costbenefit analyses for new packaging machinery investments.
  • Packaging Componentry Analysis & Optimization:
    • Identify and recommend packaging materials containers and componentry to optimize performance and cost.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate and test new packaging materials and technologies.
    • Ensure compliance with industry regulations sustainability initiatives and company standards.
  • Process Improvement & Implementation:
    • Develop strategies to improve packaging efficiency reduce costs and enhance product protection.
    • Work crossfunctionally with production quality and supply chain teams to implement packaging solutions.
    • Assist in the installation training validation and troubleshooting of new packaging equipment.
  • Quality Compliance & Sustainability:
    • Ensure all packaging solutions comply with regulatory requirements and company quality standards.
    • Evaluate sustainable packaging options to minimize environmental impact.
    • Maintain documentation for testing validation and compliance reporting.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelors degree in Packaging Engineering Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Preferred experience in packaging engineering equipment evaluation or related roles but recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of packaging machinery automation and material handling systems.
  • Experience with packaging materials including plastics corrugates films and ecofriendly alternatives.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and ability to work crossfunctionally.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and data analysis.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidates with experience in food and beverage pharmaceuticals or consumer goods.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
  • Strong analytical and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.

Essential Physical/Mental Demands

  • Ability to sit for an extended period.
  • Ability to keyboard for an extended period.
  • Handle material and supplies up to 50 lbs. of weight.
  • Ability to deal with stress due to workload pressures.
