The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Bureau of Water (BOW) Infrastructure Assistance Section PreConstruction Unit is seeking to hire an Environmental Protection Specialist 1. This position performs beginning level professional duties related to working with communities to obtain loan and grant funding for wastewater stormwater and drinking water infrastructure in the PreConstruction Unit. The ideal candidate will assist higher level staff with the processing of loan and grant applications ensuring environmental reviews are complete and preparing project summary documents for public review and comment. The position will also assist higher level staff with the completion of state and federal reporting responsibilities for the loan and grant programs.
