An outstanding primary school in Southwark is looking for a dedicated and skilled Year 6 Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis in April 2025. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping Year 6 students achieve their academic potential and ensuring their readiness for secondary school.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Year 6 students in all areas of the curriculum ensuring that they receive a balanced enriching educational experience.
- Provide targeted support to students preparing for SATs focusing on building their confidence and skills in key areas.
- Assess student progress and use data to inform teaching ensuring that individual learning needs are met.
- Create a positive inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to take ownership of their learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in teaching practices and high expectations for student achievement.
- Engage with parents and carers keeping them informed about their childs progress and providing advice for supporting learning at home.

Qualifications and Skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 particularly Year 6.
- Indepth knowledge of the National Curriculum and SATs preparation strategies.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create a focused and engaging learning environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students colleagues and parents.
