Job Description

Junior Nurse (GNM)
Overview
The Junior Nurse (GNM) plays a vital role in the healthcare system by providing essential nursing care to patients in various healthcare settings. This position is crucial in the effective delivery of quality care supporting both patients and medical staff in the healing process. Junior Nurses are responsible for a wide range of patientrelated tasks including monitoring vital signs administering medication and assisting with daily living activities. They must adhere to safety standards and infection control protocols to ensure a healthy environment for patients. This entrylevel role serves as an important stepping stone towards advanced nursing positions allowing Junior Nurses to gain handson experience and build critical clinical skills. The position requires a strong commitment to patient welfare teamwork and continuous learning making it integral to the overall success and effectiveness of healthcare delivery in any organization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses.
  • Monitor and record patients vital signs and report any significant changes.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities such as grooming feeding and mobility.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation.
  • Help in preparing patients for examinations or procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in patient care areas.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times.
  • Participate in patient education and provide emotional support.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members for comprehensive patient care.
  • Assist in the management of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Document patient care activities in electronic health records.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients and families.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Attend staff meetings training sessions and continuing education opportunities.
  • Perform minor administrative tasks as required including scheduling and billing support.
Required Qualifications
  • Completed GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery) program from a recognized institution.
  • Current nursing license in accordance with state regulations.
  • Basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and nursing procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of pharmacology and medication administration.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work varying shifts including nights and weekends.
  • Proficient in using healthcare technology and electronic health record systems.
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients.
  • Strong observational and assessment skills.
  • Ability to function effectively as part of a healthcare team.
  • Physical stamina to assist patients and perform nursing duties.
  • A commitment to professional growth and development in nursing.
  • Respect for patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
