Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Powerhouse Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team in Syracuse New York. This role is essential for ensuring the reliable operation of powerhouse systems including steam boilers air compressors and associated equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and repair within a powerhouse environment.
Working Hours:
Schedule: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Location Requirement: Must live within 50 miles of the Syracuse facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance: Plan and execute all required operations to install maintain and repair steam boilers air compressors complex electrical equipment automatic boiler controls pumps motors and powergenerating equipment.
Chemical Testing: Perform necessary chemical tests to ensure proper maintenance of boilers and associated equipment.
Troubleshooting and Repair: Tear down complicated units assess issues repair or replace defective parts or wiring and reassemble equipment as needed.
Pipe Fitting: Utilize hand tools and pipe fitting machinery to bend thread and cut pipe; use a torch to sweat copper joints and solder as required.
Steam Station Management: Install and maintain highpressure steam stations throughout the facility including steam lines traps strainers regulators valves and insulation.
Control Systems: Troubleshoot powerhouse equipment to isolate problems and repair both analog and digital control systems as necessary.
Mechanical Drawings: Identify common symbols on mechanical drawings and follow electrical and plumbing diagrams to complete tasks accurately.
Energy Management: Enter and edit time schedule data using the energy management system.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Powerhouse Technician specifically in the repair of steam boilers air compressors complex electrical equipment automatic boiler controls pumps motors and pressurized piping systems.
Preferred: 5 fulltime years of experience in a powerhouse technician role within a manufacturing environment.
ProblemSolving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mechanical equipment effectively.
Location: Must currently reside within 50 miles of the Syracuse facility.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Strong experience with steam boilers air compressors complex electrical equipment automatic boiler controls pumps motors and powergenerating equipment.
Familiarity with pressurized piping systems including water steam oil compressed air and natural gas.
Demonstrated ability to perform maintenance and repairs safely and efficiently.
