Job Summary:
The bartender is responsible for the production of any type of food and beverage for guests located in the Riviera 31 patio end cap cabanas but also the restaurant & room service orders.
The bartender has a perfect knowledge of beverages cocktails recipes and food & beverage offer for the Riviera 31 and any other outlets within the hotel.
The bartender is serving our guests to the highest standards possible.
The bartender must be able to provide fast friendly and efficient service but also cover side duties attached to the position.
The bartender has a perfect understanding of California regulations for the service of alcohol respecting the property policy currently in place.
The bartenders responsibility is engaged if an underage or intoxicated client is served within the property and measures must be taken avoiding any of those issues to arise and occur at the bar.
Primary Duties:
Must be flexible towards duties and follow upper management and supervisors instructions
Must work following proper steps to ensure compliance with local Health Department Authority
Verify stations and bar condition prior to opening of the bar (end cap bar or Riviera 31
Perform preand postshift work including cleaning/reset and any other side duties requested
Complete the check list with the manager in charge ensuring that side duties are complete accordingly
Perform Additional side work duties according to side work schedules/checklists
Take orders enter it into the P.O.S system
Produce and service any items ordered by the guest within a timely manner
Gladly return to the guests table with any additionally requested foods or beverages to increase guest comfort and satisfaction inside the bar library or end cap cabanas.
Be proactive and respond quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
Perform the service of alcohol ensuring compliance with the Californian liquor license and regulations
Ensure that the guest check entered in the P.O.S is accurate prior delivering it
Seek and deliver Cousu Main service for our guests
Be familiar with the credit card holding process if a guest is opening a tab
Close the checks according guests payment process (cash credit card or other forms) for the section allocated
Bartender is responsible to get proper payment form from guests
Bartender is responsible in case of bank or cash drop shortage at shift closure
Must be able to inform the guests towards the food & beverage offer and explain all menu items and methods of cooking/preparation to the customers as requested.
Bartender must maintain a safe work environment at all time
Must be able to inform guests towards events talents according schedule or events
Usage of upselling techniques in order to optimize the revenue by increasing the average check
Complete closing paperwork and report tipping and cash drop as per the policy in place at the hotel
Good knowledge of the food waste triage
Usage and knowledge of the ORCA machine handling food waste coming from the guests and left over on the trays or trolleys
Report any equipment malfunction or maintenance need (i.e. fridges coolers toaster or any others)
Participate in training classes regarding safety security department procedures and service guidelines. Comply with all safety and security practices policies and procedures.
Communicate with everyone using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate manner
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others
Qualifications :
Must have minimum of 2 years experience in the hospitality industry bar department in luxury hotel
Strong knowledge of food & beverage
Food handler certification mandatory
TIPS training certification mandatory
Respect of the Service of Alcohol Californian regulations
Basic Math skills calculation
Effective Communicator in the English Language Spanish is a plus
