The salary for this role is 54376 (inclusive of a Specialist Allowance). Onsite working is expected for 3 days each week however we actively support requests for flexible working.
This role is based at the following site; Culham Oxfordshire.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open source data.

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to join our team as the Knowledge and Information Manager.
Role Overview: The Knowledge and Information Manager leads and coordinates information architecture knowledge management and information activities across UKAEA. They need to bring together and consolidate disparate practices and ways of working to create a consistent well understood and mature culture of knowledge and information management at UKAEA.
The Knowledge and Information Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to manage the organizations knowledge and information assets. This includes identifying capturing storing analysing sharing and applying the relevant knowledge and information to support the organizations goals and objectives. They will also oversee the design and maintenance of information systems and databases ensure compliance with data protection and security policies and foster a culture of learning and innovation among the staff and stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities:
Using Evaluating and Maximising Value of Knowledge and Information
Lead the development and implementation of KIM strategies to enhance organisational knowledge sharing and foster a culture that values effective information management.
Design and improve KIM technical capabilities tools and infrastructure to support strategic and operational goals.
Develop and maintain governance structures policies and standards to ensure compliance consistency and accountability in information management.
Acquiring Managing and Organising Knowledge and Information:
Develop and communicate strategic direction for acquiring maintaining and managing knowledge and information ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Drive continuous improvement in KIM tools and technologies integrating requirements into the development of the organizations information architecture.
Implement crossorganizational infrastructure to enable effective KIM practices promoting efficiency through optimized processes and resource utilization.
Knowledge and Information Governance:
Establish and maintain governance structures and policies to ensure consistent KIM practices across the organisation aligning with legal regulatory and audit requirements.
Ensure internal governance mechanisms are in place to validate the accuracy of shared knowledge promoting best practices and rectifying inaccuracies.
Qualifications :
Essential:
Degree or equivalent experience in Library Information Management or a STEM field.
Proven experience in developing and delivering KIM strategies and improvement initiatives.
Strong background in KIM governance ensuring secure and effective knowledge sharing.
Ability to manage complex portfolios prioritise goals and engage stakeholders.
Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels.
Desirable:
Masters degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
Experience in strategic leadership and building networks.
Familiarity with commercial and opensource information management tools.
Knowledge of relevant KIM standards (e.g. ISO.
Experience handling both research/engineering and corporate information.
