Job Responsibilities:
1. Blood Collection and Specimen Handling:
- Venipuncture and Specimen Collection:
- Perform venipuncture and other blood collection procedures on patients of varying ages.
- Collect blood samples following proper protocols and procedures to ensure accuracy and minimize discomfort for the patient.
- Label record and properly store collected samples for laboratory analysis.
2. Patient Interaction and Care:
- Patient Comfort and Education:
- Ensure patient comfort and provide reassurance throughout the blood collection process.
- Educate patients on the procedure answering their questions and addressing concerns.
3. Equipment Maintenance and Safety:
- Equipment Handling:
- Maintain and operate phlebotomy equipment such as needles syringes and blood collection tubes.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure safety and accuracy.
- Dispose of used needles and bio hazardous materials following established protocols.
4. Record Keeping and Compliance:
- Documentation and Record Management:
- Accurately document patient information collection details and specimen labelling.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain confidentiality of patient records.
- Assist in the organization and filing of collected samples for laboratory testing.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
- Team Collaboration:
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals nurses and laboratory staff for efficient specimen processing.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure seamless workflow and patient care.
- Report any issues or concerns related to the collection process promptly.

Qualification
- Minimum Education: Completion of DMLT certification from an accredited institution
- Preferred Experience: Practical experience in a clinical setting or prior exposure to phlebotomy procedures for a minimum of 1 2 years.
