Job Summary

As a Sterile IV Compounding Technician at AmeriPharma you will play a vital role in preparing and compounding sterile intravenous (IV) medications under the supervision of a licensed infusion pharmacist. Your attention to detail and adherence to sterile technique will help ensure the safe accurate and timely preparation of IV medications for patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Compounding IV Medications:
    Accurately measure mix and prepare IV medications sterile solutions and additives using aseptic techniques in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
  • Labeling & Packaging:
    Ensure all compounded medications are labeled and packaged correctly with complete and accurate information including patient name medication name dosage and expiration date.
  • Inventory Management:
    Monitor inventory levels of medications and supplies. Track quantities lot numbers and expiration dates. Handle ordering receiving and restocking to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Quality Control:
    Follow strict quality control procedures to ensure the safety sterility and accuracy of all compounded products. Participate in routine product inspections equipment maintenance and quality improvement activities.
  • Environmental Monitoring:
    Maintain sterile compounding areas by performing routine cleaning logging environmental data and conducting surface sampling media fills and GFTs as required.
  • Cleanroom Certification:
    Participate in biannual cleanroom certification procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with sterility requirements.
  • Documentation & RecordKeeping:
    Accurately document all compounding activities including calibration reports and patientspecific records while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Prescription Entry & Refill Scheduling:
    Enter prescription data accurately into the pharmacy system and manage patient refill schedules to ensure continuous therapy and timely medication delivery.
  • CrossTraining & Additional Duties:
    Support other pharmacy operations as needed and participate in crosstraining opportunities as assigned by your supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • Clear and current Pharmacy Technician License
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal abilities
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proven time management and ability to meet deadlines
  • Problemsolving and critical thinking capabilities
  • Comfortable working in a fastpaced highpressure environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
