The Division of Rheumatology at Childrens Mercy Kansas City/ the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine is seeking a fulltime Pediatric Rheumatologist as we expand the academic and clinical profile of our program. Clinical responsibilities will include general rheumatology and support of the outpatient Amplified Pain Syndrome service. The Rehabilitation for Amplified Pain Syndromes (RAPS) Program provides multidisciplinary commitment from psychology physical and occupational therapy and social work. This intensive pain rehabilitation program is internationally recognized and provides care to children from across the country. We seek candidates who want to spend more time with patients communicate well and embrace patient and family centered care philosophy. Our rheumatologists specializing in amplified pain syndromes will provide additional training to the candidate.
Ideal candidates will share our vision of enhancing quality clinical care and service delivery while working in a collaborative and stimulating scholarly environment with a commitment to academic endeavors including but not limited to trainee education quality improvement and/or clinical and translational research. Candidates must be fellowshiptrained boardeligible or boardcertified in Pediatric Rheumatology.
Childrens Mercy has more than 800 pediatric subspecialists and researchers who are actively involved in clinical care pediatric research and educating the next generation of pediatric subspecialists. Our institution has proven its support for research through developing stateoftheart programs in genetics genomics personalized pharmacology and health outcomes research. Our vision is to provide exceptional clinical care and education while expanding subspecialty practice and research.
The administration and leadership are truly supportive of the faculty and staff in rheumatology. Our rheumatologists carry dual academic appointments at the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine and the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Our current rheumatology and pain management staff includes eight boardcertified pediatric rheumatologists three pain psychologists six skilled pediatric nurses a research coordinator social worker and pharmacist. We continue to expand our institutional research capacity with the establishment of the Childrens Mercy Research Institute and collaborative capabilities with colleagues at the University of Missouri Kansas City and the University of Kansas.
