Description du Centre
La Coop vlo est un espace de bricolage ouvert aux dbutantes comme aux expertes avec une atmosphre trs chaleureuse confortable et accueillante quipe de tous les outils et de lexpertise ncessaires pour rparer ou construire un vlo.
Notre cooprative est unique dans la ville pour plusieurs raisons: un grand espace de travail son accessibilit des rductions pour les achats dans notre catalogue BABAC etc.
Nous organisons rgulirement des ateliers gratuits et des vnements amusants et passionnants tout au long de lanne.
Notre objectif principal est de transmettre nos comptences et nos connaissances notre clientle et de promouvoir un mode de vie sain et durable pour la plante.
Description du poste
La ou le mcaniciencienne de la Coop vlo offre et administre des services la clientle de la Coop. Ses responsabilits comprennent:
Responsabilits
- Se tenir au courant des volutions pour la communaut cycliste;
- Assurer le dveloppement et la promotion de la Coop vlo de ses services et de ses programmes;
- Travailler avec le ou la coordinateurtrice de la Coop vlo pour animer des ateliers de rparation de vlos;
- Maintenir un inventaire des pices de lquipement et des outils pour la Coop vlo;
- Faire des recommandations au ou la coordinateurtrice de la Coop vlo quant aux pices lquipement et aux outils commander;
- Offrir une assistance aux membres qui souhaitent acheter des outils ou un vlo remis neuf;
- Aider les membres rparer leur vlo;
- Assister le ou la coordinateurtrice de la Coop vlo dans ses tches;
- Effectuer diverses tches administratives;
- Contribuer la bonne rputation du SUO; et
- Effectuer dautres tches connexes.
Qualifications
- Doit tudier lUniversit dOttawa;
- Le bilinguisme dans les deux langues officielles de lUniversit dOttawa (franais et anglais) est un atout;
- Exprience des vlos et de leur rparation;
- Capacit penser diffremment;
- Capacit travailler sous pression;
- Autonomie et travail dquipe;
- Capacit hirarchiser les responsabilits;
- Faire preuve de professionnalisme et de tact;
- Connaissance des applications de la plateforme Microsoft (Word PowerPoint Excel etc.;
- Connaissance de la mcanique des vlos;
- Une exprience dans lenseignement de la rparation de vlos est un atout; et
- Une exprience dans la revendication pour des transports durables dans le cadre dun gouvernement tudiant de groupes de campagnes ou dun environnement similaire est un atout.
Veuillez noter que lentretien se tiendra en anglais et en franais.
La prfrence sera accorde aux candidates des groupes en qute dquit.
Bike Coop Mechanic

This position is unionized as an A2(Supervisor) position with CUPE 4943.
Centre Description
The Bike Coop is an inclusive DIY space for beginners and experts alike with a very warm comfortable and welcoming atmosphere equipped with all the tools and expertise needed to repair or build a bike.
Our coop is unique in the city for several reasons: a large workspace its accessibility discounts for purchases in our BABAC catalog etc.
We organize free workshops regularly and fun and exciting events throughout the year.
Our main goal is to pass on our skills and knowledge to our customers and advocate a healthy and sustainable lifestyle for the planet.
Job Description
The Bike Coop Mechanic offers and administers services to Bike Coop clients. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Keep up to date on developments for the cycling community;
- Ensure the development and promotion of the Bike Coop its services and programs;
- Work with the Bike Coop Coordinator to facilitate bike repair workshops;
- Maintain an inventory of parts equipment and tools for the Bike Coop;
- Make recommendations to the Bike Coop Coordinator as to which parts equipment and tools should be ordered;
- Offer assistance to members wishing to purchase tools or a refurbished bike;
- Assist members with bike repairs;
- Assist the Bike Coop Coordinator with their tasks;
- Perform various administrative tasks;
- Contribute to the good reputation of the UOSU; and
- Complete other related tasks.
Qualifications
- Must be a student at the University of Ottawa;
- Bilingualism in both official languages of the University of Ottawa (French & English) is an asset;
- Experience with bicycles and bicycle repairs;
- Able to think outside of the box;
- Able to work under pressure;
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team;
- Capacity to prioritise responsibilities;
- Demonstrate professionalism and tact;
- Knowledge of Microsoft platform apps (Word PowerPoint Excel etc.;
- Knowledge of bicycle mechanics;
- Experience teaching bicycle repair is an asset; and
- Experience in advocacy in sustainable transportation in student government in groups in campaigns or in similar environment is an asset.
Please note that the interview will be held in both English & French.
Preference will be given to candidates of equityseeking groups and bilingual (French English or a North American Indigenous language) applicants.
