Overview
UnityPoint Health Community Memorial Hospital
FullTime; MondayFriday and OnCall Rotation
Join our dedicated team at Community Memorial Hospital as a Safety and Security Supervisor. In this key leadership role youll oversee the hospitals physical environment and life safety programs ensuring a secure and safe space for our patients visitors and staff. Youll lead regulatory compliance efforts coordinate safety trainings and guide our facilitys emergency response initiatives.
As a Safety Officer youll conduct quarterly safety meetings and collaborate closely with the administrative team to manage disaster preparedness. Youll also supervise the Maintenance Department fostering a culture of teamwork growth and excellence.

Responsibilities
Job Summary:
- Responsible for leading & managing the facilitys physical environment and life safety program.
- Ensure quality safety security and financial goals are met while providing a safe environment for visitors patients and staff.
- Enforce federal and state regulatory healthcare guidelines throughout facility.
- Coordinate required trainings exercises education and certifications for both the facility and staff. Maintain required documentation in an organized manner.
- Operate as facilitys Safety Officer and conduct quarterly Safety Meetings.
- Coordinate facility response to all disasters and/or emergencies both internal and external in collaboration with the administrative team.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operation of the Maintenance Department. Assist with hiring daily staffing performance management and staff development.
- Balance team and individual responsibilities; demonstrate willingness to put the success of the team above own interests.
- Be open and objective to others views while giving and welcoming feedback. Maintain a department culture that encourages cooperation collaboration and positive results.
Qualifications
- Desired applicant will have work experience with building codes standards and regulations along with emergency preparedness planning. Bachelors Degree preferred but not required.
- Ideal candidate will be a selfstarter with high computer and organizational skills. Previous leadership experience is desired.
Requirements:
- Ability to read write and speak English
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid Iowa Drivers License
