Position Summary
The Director of Technical Accounting is responsible for partnering with IDEX businesses and Group Controllership on technical accounting topics and accounting policy ensuring compliance with US GAAP including accounting for acquisitions. This position allows for excellent exposure and growth within the organization and reports to the VP Corporate Controller. The position will be based out of our corporate office located in downtown Chicago with a current hybrid schedule of collaborative office days on Tuesdays Wednesdays & Thursdays with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve IDEX as the technical accounting expert; provide guidance and expertise to the organization; document accounting treatment in whitepapers as appropriate
- Partner with the Group Controllership on policy updates and policy exceptions as needed
- Partner with Financial Solutions on new acquisitions and integrations to ensure compliance with ASC 805
- Research all new accounting standards; determine if new pronouncements impact IDEX and document treatment and adoption of new standards; partner with the Group Controllership and/or SEC Reporting teams as appropriate to coordinate timelines and necessary changes to business processes
- Proactively communicate the potential impact of transactions to the organization to senior management to ensure all accounting impacts are considered in transactions
- Liaise with external auditors on technical accounting matters
Experience
- 10 years accounting experience
- Minimum of 5 years in public accounting with public clients
- Minimum of 3 years of management experience
- CPA is required
- Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Accounting
- Manufacturing experience highly desirable

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $154700.00 $232100.00 depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.Benefits Package
