Position Summary:
Sovah Danville is seeking a fulltime Cardiac TechnicianNight shift under the supervision of an RN to perform telemetry monitoring.
- Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors and operates the patientmonitoring computer.
- Obtains patient information for the telemetry records such as heart rhythm history.
- Measures records and interprets heart rhythms and identifies abnormalities.
- Recognizes changes in heart rhythms and relays the information to a nurse or physician.
- Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
- Test equipment for proper working order and report any equipment problems to the supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidays to ensure continuity of care and appropriateness of nursing coverage to the patients of Sovah Health Danville on all units.
- American Heart Association HeartSaver CPR required within 8 weeks of hire.
