OF ASSIGNMENT
Under the direction of the Transportation Supervisor this position is responsible for the coordination of assignments on regularly scheduled routes special events and field trips necessary to meet the compliance of time schedules for safe and efficient transportation operations. This position places strong emphasis on routing dispatch data management communication and customer service. The Dispatcher acts as lead to the bus drivers and bus paraprofessionals. This position is subject to FHWA drug & alcohol testing as provided by District Policy 5259.
FUNCTIONS
and communicates via a twoway communication device; bus stop/route data directions or other pertinent information to district mobile personnel.
the assignment of bus drivers and equipment to ensure optimum use of resources. Maintain driver attendance and vehicle assignment records; assigns substitute drivers to cover routes when necessary. Regularly monitors routes and coverage to ensure all are serviced as scheduled. Reviews routes and recommends revisions or changes in schedules in order to improve services.
and coordinates home to school special education and field trip transportation for the purpose of meeting the organizational needs and goals. Maintain necessary documentation and data to support the transportation of students.
with the preparation and assignment of bus routes buses and drivers in accordance with established procedures. Assist with the development of new or adjusted bus routes. Provides information concerning routes stops schedules safe riding practices rules and regulations as requested.
bus route directions route sheets and any other items necessary for completing drivers on proper routes special requirements routing adjustments and other nonroutine conditions.
building administrators of route changes late arrivals and departures and other pertinent information.
with the development and writeup of office procedures.
lead direction to the dispatch section and drivers in the absence of the supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS
and Experience
school diploma or equivalent (GED).
3 years of progressively responsible experience in school transportation services schedule and route data development and general familiarity with vehicle maintenance scheduling practices.
and Licensing
and maintain a valid Washington State commercial drivers license with a school bus endorsement and a safe driving record as demonstrated by a current 5 year drivers extract.
of Transportation physical card.
Aid/CPR and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) certification.
Washington State Driver Trainer Instructor.
instructor of First Aid CPR and AED or obtain within the first 60 days of employment.

CONDITIONS
Work is performed in an office or enclosed facility environment. Some exposure to inclement weather may occur frequent interruptions and noisy surroundings. Must be able to effectively use fingers hands and arms; speak and hear clearly; sit or stand for prolonged periods of time; and bend twist walk and reach requiring ordinary physical effort are all required. Heavy emphasis on keyboarding and oral communication. Exposure to normal levels of office dust VDT screen and office machines and their required chemicals are part of the job. Ability to hear and see to perform duties of driving bus as necessary.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment with Clover Park School District is conditional pending completion of a Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check as required by RCW28A.400.303. (NOTE: All associated background check fees are the employees responsibility. The fingerprint scan must be completed prior to the first day of employment.
