Job Description

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity

  • General knowledge of fiscal and program management principles.
  • General knowledge of behavioral health service delivery and reimbursement systems.
  • Knowledge of program development and quality improvement practices.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws related to Medicaid programs and contracts.
  • Meet minimum qualifications:
    • Bachelors degree in human services public health behavioral health or related fields.
    • Two years of professional experience in health care public health behavioral health or general program management.
    • Other equivalent combinations of education and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Medicaid.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel; and database applications.
  • Experience with the Montana Medicaid I

This position may be eligible for partial teleworkwithin the state of conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.

This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective July 1 2025.

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Division Treatment Bureau.

The Treatment Bureau operates as the state authority for the development oversight and delivery of appropriate mental health treatment programs for adults and substance use disorder treatment programs for adults and youth.

The position in the Treatment Bureau is responsible for managing the Healing and Ending Addiction through Recovery and Treatment (HEART) 1115 Demonstration Waiver. This position will oversee the implementation and management of the HEART Waiver services in coordination with other HEART related initiatives. Responsibilities include working with community stakeholders implementing and assessing waiver activities providing technical assistance to waiver providers and developing the required reporting to the Centers for Medicaid and Medicaid. All activities support the HEART initiatives goal of expanding efforts to strengthen states evidencebased behavioral health continuum of care for individuals with a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Serious Mental Illness (SMI) or a Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED).
