Sign On Bonus $2500 Non experienced / New Grad or ProMedica Surgical Tech Intern in Certified Surgical Technician
Sign On Bonus $5000 1 to 2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technician
Sign On Bonus $7500 greater than 2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technician
The Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital will give our community its firstever wellness destination. Our families and friends will have improved access to nutrition education exercise resources and stateoftheart care like they never have before. Position Summary:
Prepares operating rooms for surgery using appropriate techniques. Provides technical services and assists during operative procedures on infant through geriatric patients as assigned and directed
ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients/clients served (ie: infant pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric).
2. Prepares rooms with appropriate instruments sutures supplies and equipment.
3. Assists the surgical team during operative procedures. Opens sterile supplies and sets up for procedures.
4. Prepares rooms between procedures and after terminal cleaning. Monitors and restocks supplies.
5. Drapes patients for procedures assists with case as directed by physician.
6. Knowledgeable in surgical cases for all services provided.
7. Shares knowledge of scrubbing to educate / mentor peers and new orientees.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: Graduate of approved surgical technician program or licensed as LPN in the State of Michigan
Skills: Must be able to read and speak the English language. Must be able to communicate in person and have the ability to deal effectively with a changing environment and be open to new ideas. Must be able to input information into computer programs and maintain patient chart records and logs. Must be able to use basic math. Must be able to research information. Must be able to operate diagnostic equipment.
Years of Experience: NA
License: LPN license in the State of Michigan if not a graduate of an approved surgical technician program
Certification: BCLS and Surgical Technologist (CST) certification if not an LPN. Must have Surgical Technologist (CST) certification within six 6 months of hire.
