Job SummaryUnder general supervision leads the design development resourcing (funding) and management of a public health content area (program). Strategically elevates the content area within the department Denver Health and the broader community. Provides direction and oversight including supervision of assigned staff and grants management (both fiscal and programmatic). Ensures work adheres to policies and procedures and funding requirements. Collaborates with leaders within and across content areas at the local state and national level to achieve program division department and enterprise (DHHA) goals and identifies opportunities for alignment. Needs to have exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Essential Functions:
- Provides leadership and strategic direction of the content area in concert with other program managers sr. program managers division leadership and staff. Oversees the management and of all grants and deliverables within the content area or across areas as collaboration requires. Promotes innovation and best practice advances in the content area. Builds and maintains relationships and contacts at the community funder local and state level including partnerships to leverage grant activities innovation and funding. 20
- Evaluates strategies practices work processes and structures and provides recommendations to the division DPH and DHHA leadership as appropriate. 20
- Takes responsibility for actions projects and people; makes quick and clear decisions which may include tough choices after considering risks. Sets high standards for quality quantity and timelines. Consistently achieves project goals. Focuses on customer needs and satisfaction with continuous quality improvement approaches. 20
- Interprets and disseminates content area results to key stakeholders and the broader public health community through oral media and written communication to improve program implementation or for public health action. Effectively manages/coaches individual staff towards professional growth. 20
- Builds and maintains high performing teams. Conducts supervision duties as required; recruiting interviewing and selecting staff performance monitoring and conducting appraisals. 20
Education:
- Bachelors Degree Required
Work Experience:
- 46 years of progressive experience developing implementing and evaluating health projects community development Required and
- 13 years Experience with public health promotion including strategic planning budget management policy analysis environmental and organizational systems change. Required and
- 13 years Experience in group facilitation quality improvement and project management. Required and
- 13 years of supervisor experience Required
