The Position
Wilson Elsers Chicagooffice is currently seeking a Professional Liability Associate Attorney to join our dynamic team of litigators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a litigation caseload working cases from beginning to end including complex and high exposure cases from inception to resolution.
- Collaborate closely with other attorneys and Partners on complex legal matters.
- Regularly handle court appearances and depositions.
- Communicate proactively with clients keeping them informed with regular status updates.
- Contribute to legal strategy and case development with a focus on client goals and outcomes.
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in the State of Illinois
- 2 years experience in defense litigation. Professional liability insurance coverage is a plus
- Deposition and trial preparation experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience in conducting paper discovery depositions motion practice and report writing
- Processes including electronic filing are preferred
A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience education licensure and/or certifications geographic location market demands other business and organizational needs and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered fulltime and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan medical dental vision disability and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
Pay Range
$125000 $165000 USD
