A Brief Overview
Under the direction/supervision of a collaborative physician and practicing Advanced Practice Provider (APP) the APP Subspecialty/Primary Care FellowCRNP is a trainee. The APP Subspecialty/Primary Care Fellowship program is a program that provides mentoring didactic teaching simulation skills training and experience to prepare the APP Fellow to become a competent APP. Throughout the program the APP Fellow will become responsible for the direct care and follow up of a population of patients that match his/her skill set through the designated curriculum and timelines. The components of the role include education clinical practice consultation and professional development.

What you will do

  • Under the direct guidance and supervision of the Attending Physician and/or credentialed APP
  • Participates in the Subspecialty/Primary Care APP Fellow program educational curriculum. Completes posttests and evaluations as a measure of competence. Participates in own professional development by maintaining required competencies identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate educational offerings.
  • As a part of the learning process will utilize advanced assessment skills to support the management of a cohort of patients. Performs and documents daily assessments. Collects and analyzes data and formulates a familycentered plan of care. Evaluates and monitors the effectiveness of the prescribed treatment plan. As a trainee works collaboratively to communicate the plan of care and potential changes to this plan to the supervising physician and assigned Advanced Practice Provider.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to patient safety by speaking up about safety issues and changing practices to enhance safety. Shares errors or potential errors through system reporting mechanisms. Demonstrates shared accountability for safe practice.

Education Qualifications

  • Masters Degree Required

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work in a team setting with multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to use computer and electronic medical records effectively.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) Pennsylvania State Licensing Board upon hire Preferred and
  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) (Pennsylvania) Pennsylvania State Licensing Board upon hire Preferred and
  • Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care (CPNPAC) Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) upon hire Preferred or
  • Primary Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner CPNPPC Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) upon hire Preferred
