HiWay Paving is always looking for skilled Paving Equipment Operators to join our team. While we may not have an immediate opening we continuously seek experienced paving operators to support our slipform concrete paving operations on highways and airfields.
This role requires frequent travel between our project locations including Charlotte NC; Nashville TN; Columbia SC; and future sites as needed. If youre an experienced operator open to travel and looking for opportunities to contribute to highquality paving projects wed love to hear from you!
What Youll Do:
- Operate slipform paving (heavy) equipment in compliance with manufacturer and company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist mechanics and provide input on equipment repairs maintenance and performance improvements.
- Help load and unload equipment and materials at job sites vehicles and/or trailers.
- Maintain job site cleanliness and ensure that equipment materials and tools are stored safely and properly.
- Complete required paperwork reports and documentation accurately and on time.
What We Look For:
- Experience: Slipform paving experience: 13 years operating slipform concrete pavers (e.g. Gomaco 2800 on largescale stringless mainline paving projects required.
- Construction background: 3 years of heavy/highway construction experience as an operator or laborer required.
- Airfield paving experience: Prior work on runways or taxiways preferred.
- Mechanical skills: Mechanically inclined with experience in equipment maintenance and repair preferred
- Ability to gain clearance for restricted/highsecurity zones (e.g. airport AOA military bases).
- Willingness to travel 100 of the time.
- Valid drivers license.
- Physical ability to lift 75 lbs climb walk kneel squat push pull and enter confined spaces.

HiWay Paving Inc. is a general contractor in the heavy/civil construction space focusing on projects involving significant amounts of concrete paving on airfields.
We operate in several southeastern and midwestern states with current job sites in Tennessee North Carolina and South Carolina as well as corporate/backoffice operations in Ohio (our headquarters) and remote locations. We perform most of our work and services as a prime contractor but occasionally serve as a subcontractor on principal contracts with federal state and other governmental agencies as well as private owners.
