SUMMARY
The Maintenance Specialist (Specialist) performs a variety of functions that ensure the safe and efficient operation of machinery equipment and vehicles owned or leased by PDI and used in PDI programs and services. The Specialist also ensures the maintenance upkeep accessibility and safety of buildings and grounds owned or leased by PDI and occupied by employees people served and others.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety
o Understand implement and follow all PDI safety policies procedures and requirements
o Support PDI safety drills evacuation processes etc. in collaboration with the PDI safety committee
o Ensure that all safety routes and exits are accessible and operational at all times during hours of operation including PDI residential facilities
o Instruct all operators in the proper and safe use of machinery.
Maintenance Responsibilities
Production
o Set up production machines and equipment
o Operate equipment such as lathes end mills drills welders and tool grinders
o Instruct all operations in the proper maintenance of machinery
o Assist in production
o Design and build tools and adaptive equipment
o Instruct operators in the proper use of adaptive equipment
Vehicle Use
o This position does require that you drive a personal or PDI vehicle on PDI business
o Ability to drive a Ford box truck (Ford E350 or comparable size training available.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must pass preemployment and random drug screenings and background checks.
Must possess basic computer literacy and effective communication skills.
First Aid CPR and additional training required upon hire.
If operating a company vehicle a valid Colorado drivers license and clean motor vehicle record are required.
If using a personal vehicle for work valid insurance and proof of coverage limits are required
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience in maintenance repair and general facilities work.
Basic knowledge of HVAC plumbing and electrical systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in design adaptive equipment construction or related trades.
Certifications or experience in:
o Electrical work
o Welding
o Plumbing
o General maintenance
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret manuals and procedures.
Write clear reports and correspondence.
Communicate effectively with a range of individuals.
MATHEMATICAL ABILITY
Perform basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers fractions and decimals.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic knowledge of word processing spreadsheets and internet tools.
REASONING ABILITY
Apply sound reasoning to carry out instructions and resolve issues involving multiple variables.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primary work takes place in the PDI Pueblo facility.
Occasional exposure to outdoor weather and variable noise levels.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Regular lifting of 5075 lbs..; frequent lifting up to 100 lbs..; occasional lifting over 100 lbs.
Frequent standing walking climbing stooping and crawling.
Regular use of hands vision hearing and occasionally smell.
TRAVEL
Regular local travel (within a 50mile radius) may be required for job duties.
POSITION TYPE & HOURS
Based at the Pueblo facility.
Schedule determined by Maintenance Lead or Director of Operations; early reporting may be required for snow/ice removal.
30minute unpaid meal break required daily.
