Were looking for a Supported Education and Employment Specialist who is passionate about working with youth and helping them discover whats possible. In this role youll support young people as they navigate school explore career paths and access opportunities that support longterm success. Youll serve as a coach connector and advocateoffering personalized guidance organizing engaging workshops and collaborating with educators employers and community partners to reduce barriers to success.
Welcome and engage youth visiting the center.
Use motivational interviewing and evidencebased tools to support youthdriven goalsetting.
Provide academic advocacy and assist with schoolrelated challenges including remote learning.
Conduct individual and group coaching sessions focused on career exploration and educational planning.
Help youth develop and follow through with personalized education and employment goals.
Plan and facilitate engaging workshops and career exploration activities.
Work alongside the allcove care team GSUL Workforce Development and external partners.
Build connections with local schools and employers to expand opportunities for youth.
Maintain a current directory of educational mental health and employment resources.
Organize job fairs and promote enrollment in workforce platforms like CalJobs.
Integrate feedback from the Youth Advisory Group and other community stakeholders.
Build lasting relationships with businesses to facilitate youth job matching and internships.
Collect and maintain program data for ongoing improvement and reporting.
Ensure adherence to confidentiality ethics and traumainformed care practices.
Bachelors degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination).
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Valid drivers license and proof of insurance.
Fully vaccinated against COVID19 (or valid medical exemption).
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Cultural humility and a deep understanding of diverse youth experiences.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data systems.
Passion for youth advocacy coaching and positive development.
Ability to travel occasionally for outreach events and community meetings.
Officebased role with occasional travel.
Flexible work hours including some evenings and weekends.
